Introduction

 

ACC is the first national Chamber to be established in Egypt and in the whole Arab region. It was set up by the traders of Alexandria as a place for them to gather and discuss matters of mutual interest, and to exchange points of views with regards to the various problems they encountered. Since then the Chamber has been providing services, growing and developing and today has over 180,000 companies to serve.

Since its inception in 1922, the Egyptian Chamber of commerce in Alexandria  has been a key player in the economy of the city . The promotion and facilitation of International trade has always been a major focus and the chamber is generally the first port of call for visiting trade delegations and business visitors to Alexandria.

Building on its reputation as the region’s foremost link between local and overseas business,the chamber has successfully gained international credibility with International Organizations and chambers worldwide. Furthermore, Meeting the international visitors that call at the ACC is a major opportunity for visiting businesses to explore the potential of traditional and new markets in the comfort of their own environment . Outgoing Chamber-led missions are of great benefit to those participating ,as ACC’s international credibility, through its active involvement with the chambers around the globe opens doors at the highest level.

The Chamber lobbies the various levels of government to promote and protect the interests of businesses. It plays a major role in promoting the development of Alexandria as the economic Hub of the region
